Little Sister

In the middle of my impossibly long day
I got a text from my little sister
that read
"Hi I think you should come home soon k bye lol"
("lol" is what she's ending all of her texts and Facebook statuses with at sixteen)
and I wasn't sure whether to laugh because I'm lucky enough to have her
or cry because there are parts of her life that I'm missing.
so I did a little bit of both.

  1. I have three younger siblings...so I can definitely relate. I'll always remember when one of my younger brothers (who was eight at the time...and is 18 now) asked me, "when are you going to finish college so you can move back home?" It's a very strange feeling. :)

  2. aww that is so sweet. i have three younger siblings so i totally get it. i think it is much harder when they are still "growing up." skype is a great invention though.

  3. Awww, you guys are so sweet! I love reading & seeing the relationship between you & your sisters here on your blog. We love perusing your posts to get our "NYC fix." Just makes us want to get back up there in person though. ;) Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your blog!

  4. Oh, I totally know what you mean. I'm blessed enough to still live in the same town as my parents but if I don't see them at least once every two weeks, I start to get panicky. I love them (my whole family) so much and I just want to make sure I make the most of my time with them!

I love hearing from you!
