Yesterday morning we drove into the city for church - a quick drive if you're leaving early enough. Directly following, we jumped in a cab headed down Amsterdam and stopped in Midtown for brunch at El Centro (one of our favorites in our old neighborhood) and an eastward walk to Rockefeller Center.
There are hints of the Christmas season all over the city - wreaths, twinkle lights and store displays appearing overnight. In just a couple more weeks, there will be tree stands, music, gingerbread smells piping from coffee shops. I hate to rush through Thanksgiving, because it deserves its own moment, but I seem to get ahead of myself every year.
How fortunate, to be alive in this very moment.
